As this week begins, BBC Radio 7 is running the second of 2 Jon Pertwee Doctor Who audio stories made for BBC Radio 4 in the early 1990s, and anyone with an internet connection and realplayer software can tune in. In Britain, Radio 7 is a digital radio station, available on digital radios and digital TVs. It is not immediately clear if Radio 7 will air more Doctor Who programming in the near future. Sci-fi themed programming airs 7 days a week at 6PM and Midnight British Time. |

The South African variant of the UK Sci-Fi Channel airs the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie one more time this month on Sunday 26 January at 4PM. As of this writing, the UK and South African Sci-Fi Channels do not have any airings of the movie scheduled for February, nor does the US Sci-Fi Channel. |

UK Gold will be finishing its current run of Doctor Who stories in February (probably Saturday 8 February). I am not aware of any schedule information for UK Gold beyond that date. UK Gold has not said what they will do with the show, but a few months ago it was announced that the rights were up for renewal in early 2003, and that UK Gold was buying rights to the complete series (including Hartnell/Troughton). We'll see what happens. |

Iowa Public TV in Iowa is also completing their run of Doctor Who stories in February with Survival on February 1st. They went all the way from the 1st Doctor through the 7th. This time around, they're going to the start of the 4th Doctor's era, and Robot will begin on February 8th. |

KTEH/KCAH Doctor Who fans in San Jose/Watsonville, CA - don't panic. A combination of pledge nights and burnoffs of airings of shows with expiring rights will keep Doctor Who off the air for February and possibly all of March. This weekend's airing of the last 2 episodes of Planet of the Spiders will be the last airing before this brief hiatus. Doctor Who will return to KTEH/KCAH with the 4th Doctor era in either late March or April. A KTEH special with Peter Davison (5th Doctor) will air on February 16th. |
While I try to keep the column up to date, I do sometimes miss late changes to schedules. If you see TWIDW's information getting out of synch with what your local station is actually airing, let me know ASAP. |
